Lesser Magistrate Day:

April 19

April 19 marks the anniversary of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, which ignited the American War for Independence. In defiance of the British Crown's appointed representative, Governor General Thomas Gage, local magistrates and militias refused to surrender their stockpiled weapons and munitions. Instead, they used those arms in combat against British soldiers who had come to confiscate them. This stands as a striking example in American History of the Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates put into action.

Romans 13 and the Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrate

The Doctrine applied today to abortion:

  1. Magistrates (governors, mayors, county boards, sheriffs and police officers) should refrain from arresting and prosecuting rescuers who interpose inside abortion clinics.
  2. Magistrates (governors, mayors, county boards, sheriffs and police officers) should enforce the anti-abortion 5th and 14th Amendments to the US Constitution and any state or local laws that prohibit murder by arresting and prosecuting abortion clinic staff and anyone who is known to have killed or intends to kill their own preborn child.

As April 19th (Lesser Magistrate Day) approaches, this page and the Abolish Abortion Virginia Facebook page will increasingly share information about, history of, and application of the Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrate as we fight for the abolition of abortion in Virginia.
